Midtown Miami is a massive mixed use development encompassing 18 city blocks in the largest parcel of previously undeveloped land in Miami. Bordered by the Miami Design District and NE 36 Street to the North, North Miami Avenue to the West, NE 29th Street to the South and NE 2nd Avenue to the East. Midtown Miami is a 56-acre city within the city of Miami. Once complete, the entire development will contain an estimated 3,900 residential condo units, 600,000 sq. ft. of retail space and 100,000 sq. ft. of office space. There will be 8 residential towers in total from high-rise to low-rise. Other features of the development include shops, restaurants, a proposed first-class hotel, town square, boutiques, newsstands, parks and green spaces.

As of June 2008, seven major retailers have opened their doors to the public: Circuit City, Linen ‘N Things, Marshalls, Target, West Elm, Petsmart and Ross Dress for Less.

The first residential building to open was 2 Midtown in March 2007.
